God Will Make A Way When Life Seems Dismal
God will make a Way when Life seems Dismal
And Adam had relations with his wife again; and she gave birth to a son,
and named him Seth, for, she said, “God has appointed me another
offspring in place of Abel; for Cain killed him
(Gen. 4:25, NAS).
In one sweep of jealousy Eve’s dreams lay bleeding on the ground; her older son a criminal on the run, her younger son murdered in the prime of life. She’s supposed to be the mother of all living, but now all she has is a corpse and a killer. Can you identify with her? Have you been saying, ‘Lord, this is not what You promised!?’ If that’s where you are today God will show you a way forward.
Who is the Lord?
He is the Divine Leader.
Just look what He did for His people in the wilderness. They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; they did not find a way to an inhibited city. They were hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. He led them also by a straight way (Psalm 107:4-7 NAS).
He leads even in the difficult places, for testing (Deut. 8:2).
Like a mother bird teaching her young to fly, God leads (Deut. 32:11).
Like a Shepherd, God leads (Ps. 77:20).
There is no place beyond the reach of his hand - ‘If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me’ (Ps. 139:9-10). God knows what He’s doing! Everything in your life may seem to be falling apart, when in reality you’re just in one of those ‘but God’ situations. When He enters the picture, everything changes.
Why Does God Allow Sufferings?
When Cain killed Abel God’s plan for Eve was delayed, but not destroyed.
And in spite of what you are going through right now, everything God has promised you will be fulfilled. To the Church at Philippi, the Apostle Paul wrote – Philippians 1:6, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
God has a way of restoring things you thought would never come to pass. He moved in Eve’s life and gave her another son called Seth, which means ‘one who takes the place of.’ Suddenly Eve realized that if God says it, He will do it. Satan may try to put up roadblocks, but he can’t prevent the hand of God. Your blessings may not come in the way you thought it should or through the person you thought it would, but if God said it, rest assured, He’ll make a way!
What will He Do?
God can make a success out of your disaster.
God used Paul’s shipwreck to reach Malta with the Gospel. Notice some important things in this incredible narrative:
Sometimes you’ll have to throw stuff overboard [Things held Sacred], (Acts 27:18)
In spite of your best efforts you’ll occasionally run aground [Reach rock Bottom], (Acts 27:26)
You must remember what God told you and stand on it [His divine Promises], (Acts 27:26).
Stop worrying, God will provide what you need in ways that will amaze you. If you are His child, you’re not the victim of circumstances. Your future is not in the hands of people, it’s in the hands of God and what He owns, He takes care of.
Master and Savior, although there seems to be the ‘curse of Cain’ on my family tree, help me to rest in your providence until you make all things new. Amen.
